D5.13 - Training catalogue development Y2

AgrifoodTEF is developing a dynamic ecosystem that brings together a wide range of stakeholders in the agrifood sector, from farmers and researchers to technology suppliers and startups. The project aims to accelerate the integration of digital technologies, such as AI, data analytics and robotics, into the agri-food sector to boost sustainable and efficient food production. A key part of this mission is to provide specialised training, workshop and courses to European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs). These activities strengthen EDIHs by providing them with the expertise and resources to successfully translate innovative technologies into practice. Training, workshop and courses programmes range from introductory courses on AgrifoodTEF services to specialised workshops on data spaces, AI integration and compliancy.

AgrifoodTEF is well positioned to establish a robust network to serve as a centre for communication, collaboration and knowledge dissemination among stakeholders. This network will serve as a valuable resource, providing stakeholders with access to cutting-edge insights and expertise related to AI, data and robotics technologies in the agriculture and food sector.

D5.11 - AgrifoodTEF portal

AgrifoodTEF is committed to sustainable and efficient food production, and the launch of the first version of the AgrifoodTEF Portal, catalogue.agrifoodtef.eu, as crucial step toward achieving this goal. This first version platform aims to connect technology suppliers and solution manufacturers with a comprehensive set of services provided by nodes and satellites, specifically aimed at stimulating the development and commercialisation of new agricultural AI-based technologies and innovations within the agri-food sector. This first version of the portal serves as a central resource that provides customers with a detailed overview of the TEF services available through nodes and satellites active in the agri-food sector. These curated services are for innovators seeking Agrifood-related technology solutions. They are tailored to support companies in testing and validating AI and robotics products for the Agrifood sector. The first version of the portal emphasises networking and aims to make the catalogue of agrifoodTEF services publicly available. With its dual functionality, the portal displays a comprehensive catalogue of services while serving as a primary communication channel. Stakeholders gain direct access to nodes/satellites, testing and experimentation facilities, infrastructures, services and ongoing initiatives through this accessible platform.

D5.1 - Dissemination & Communication Plan and Reports, including Network Development - Version 3

The third version of the “Dissemination & Communication plan and reports including network” deliverable sets out the strategy and main activities performed by the agrifood team in 2024 in terms of communicating its goals, outputs and impacts. It also describes how it is sharing its results and building a community. In terms of planning, it defines specific actions and measures for all activities related to community building and practical assets key to ensuring the proper visibility of agrifoodTEF as one of the Testing and Experimentation Facilities projects. The report also outlines agrifoodTEF stakeholder groups and targeted engagement activities with dedicated campaigns to increase the impact of communication and dissemination activities. The document lays the foundations for future actions in three further documents (D5.1 V4 in 2025, D5.1 V5 in 2026 and D5.1 V6 in 2027), which will report on impacts and achievements and update plans with an increasing focus on how dissemination and communication activities can support the sustainability plan of agrifoodTEF.

ELSA Scan: Supporting Responsible AI and IoT Development in Agriculture

The "ELSA Scan: Supporting Responsible AI and IoT Development in Agriculture" training webinar introduces the ‘Evaluation of Ethical, Legal, and Social Aspects (ELSA Scan) service’, developed within agrifoodTEF. AI and data-driven technologies hold great promise for agriculture, but they also raise questions about transparency, bias, data privacy, safety, and societal impact. The ELSA Scan helps developers address these issues early in the design process through a structured evaluation based on surveys and interviews. Participants will learn how the service identifies key ELSA aspects and provides high-level recommendations that improve ethical technologies, ensure legal compliance, and increase societal acceptance. The provided materials are the slides presented during the event.

Safety for Autonomous Tractors & Field Robots in the Agrifood Sector

The slides were presented during the webinar "Safety for Autonomous Tractors & Field Robots in the Agrifood Sector", presented by Johannes Zuser and moderated by Marie Wenzlaff, both from Josephinum Research. They introduce the principles of Safe Agricultural Automation. As robotics and autonomous machinery enter viticulture, horticulture, tree crops, and arable farming, new safety challenges arise in unstructured and dynamic environments. The slides provide an overview of the current state of automation in agriculture, present selected state-of-the-art robotic solutions, and explain the relevant EU frameworks and standards for autonomous machinery.

These slides were presented during the agrifoodTEF training webinar "Assessing drones in agriculture: Testing, Simulation, and Cybersecurity". They explore the role of drones and digital technologies in transforming the agri-food sector. As drones become essential for monitoring and data collection in vineyards, livestock management, and arable farming, ensuring their performance and security is paramount. The session provided an overview of the drone testing lifecycle, from initial laboratory simulations to real-world applications on experimental farms. Participants discovered how drones are used for precise data annotation and soil/crop monitoring, and gain an introduction to the critical principles of cybersecurity certification.

AI and Cybersecurity: Challenges of today, preparing for tomorrow

On 18 June 2026, the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC), a partner of the agrifoodTEF Polish Node, organised the webinar "AI and Cybersecurity: Challenges of today, preparing for tomorrow". The webinar explored the rapidly intersecting worlds of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity, focusing on the unique challenges they present to modern organisations. While cybersecurity is a well-recognised necessity, further amplified by recent cyberwar threats, the integration of AI solutions into current ICT infrastructures introduces a completely new set of vulnerabilities. The session provided an overview of contemporary digital risks, shifting focus toward AI-specific threats such as algorithmic bias, system opacity, privacy vulnerabilities, and adversarial attacks designed to deceive AI systems. Participants were introduced to essential mitigation strategies, including the "defence-in-depth" and "shifting-left" paradigms. By combining theoretical awareness with practical remediation steps, the training outlined how attendees can leverage the free support services offered by the agrifoodTEF project to protect their digital assets without stalling innovation. D2.7 - agrifoodTEF data space Y2

This reports an update on the Y2 activities of the development of the AgrifoodTEF dataspace, a distributed collection of datasets created during the execution of testing and validation services, which will be amongst the assets the project will use for its sustainability plan. The deliverable explores the key building blocks of Dataspaces, examines common technologies like Eclipse Dataspace Components (EDC), Pontus-X, and Gaia-X to establish secure and interoperable environments that encourage data sharing, while maintaining data sovereignty for data controllers/producers. It introduces the advantages of computeto-data approaches as additional data sovereignty guarantees. The report then focuses on the AgriFoodTEF Dataspace implementation, outlining onboarding procedures, digital wallet setup, data asset acquisition and consumption, data publishing and governance mechanisms, all needed enablers for the creation of a business viable asset. Finally, it presents some concrete use cases where some AgrifoodTEF Partners have started producing datasets expected to be valorised through a dataspace compliant implementation with the aim of fostering a data-driven agricultural transformation aligned with EU policies.

D2.12 - Overall digital service catalogue [M36 release]

This document is the fourth in a line of deliverables aimed at tracking the development of AgrifoodTEF’s digital services. The first of this line was D2.1 (Digital infrastructure requirements and initial catalogue of services, due at M6); the last three are yearly editions of the current document (D2.14, D2.15, D2.16: Overall digital services catalogue). 2025 has been the year when service delivery by AgrifoodTEF partners to customers took flight. At the time of writing (beginning of December 2025) the number of services negotiated with customers is over 450. Of these, a significant fraction are digital services, i.e. the focus of this Deliverable. For comparison, at the end of 2024 the number of digital services activated was (as documented by D2.15) around 20. As the activities of AgrifoodTEF develop, the documents in this line of deliverables progressively shift their focus from tracking service offering to tracking service provision. This shift reflects the need to focus on extracting guidelines from experience and on defining sustainability pathways for AgrifoodTEF after the end of the 5-year project span. We are now approaching a stage where the development of mechanisms for service delivery and (eventually) for AgrifoodTEF self-sustainability can be switched from open-loop (i.e., driven by partners’ previsions and previous experience) to closed-loop, i.e. driven by the actual demands and expectations of our customers.
